walk in South Beach Florida.

Wedding Booked for September 2013

Rivers and her fiancee Ethan booked their September 7, 2013 wedding in Columbia Mississippi. They chose a country western theme to be held at a camp by a lake. They had looked to book another photographer in the Hattiesburg area, Teresa Frey, who was already booked but knew my reputation to b e  good and referred them to Artie Rawls Photography. The couple plan to do an extended engagement session. The bride is shopping in New Orleans for a unique wedding gown. She liked our albums and coverage of weddings. Each wedding is a unique story filled with emotion which we look forward to documenting. We are experienced at making wedding couples look good in outdoor venues where the lighting can be tricky to deal with. Our weddings cover the love and emotion of the bride and groom and their wedding party, families and guests. A great day of celebration from start to finish!

Baby Plan for First Year

I was fortunate to photograph Ellens wedding and her sisters wedding recently at Mississippi State University Chapel. Ellen and her husband Blaine had unpleasant experiences with a photographer in Mobile alabama and one in Petal Mississippi. They were rushed to order from the computer and not allowed to finish the session for the baby. The one in Petal was from the photographer shutting the parent out while he tried to photograph the 2 year old. People are pretty sensitive about being asked to wait in the lobby and need to know this might happen ahead of time. Also portrait photographers need to allow extra time in case there is a delay since you can't force or hurry a baby to be ready for a portrait. This session was mainly for

the baby Elle but her sister insisted on being included. The family lives in Moss Point Mississippi and were willing to drive an hour to get better service.

We have had several calls for weddings mainly from the phone book, google search for this area and the fact that we are well known in this area for 25 years as the studio which does the best wedding photography  which includes storytelling images filled with emotion and great posed and traditional photography as well. Our method of being nice and helpful and fun with people makes a big difference

Powerful Tornado Hits Hattiesburg February 10, 2013

A powerful wedge tornado destroyed parts of Hattiesburg, Oak Grove and Petal Mississippi February 10, 2013. It was very unusual that no one died. 2000 homes and businesses were damaged and destroyed.

The fact that many people were at home or at the New Orleans Mardi Gras is part of the reason no one died. President Obama declared the area a disaster. The old growth trees in front of The University of Southern Mississippi were uprooted and the Ogletree Alumni House was heavily damaged. These photographs were of a home on Waller St. in Petal near the Ace Hardware Store which was completely destroyed.

Michael a representative needed images of a local property, Green Briar Apartments, which they are considering for purchase. The images included exteriors, closeups and interiors of 2 and 3 bedroom units
and the overall exteriors of the buildings and surrounding area. We were able to complete this job fast and

with the type of images they needed for viewing and making a decision to purchase the property.

Signature Magazine of Hattiesburg Publishes Baseball Calendar 2013

Signature Magazine of Hattiesburg, Mississippi created a car theme for their 2013 Baseball Season Calendar for Hattiesburg area schools. The shoot took place at Petro Nissan on Highway 98 west in Hattiesburg and of course centered around a car theme. The schools included Sumrall, Purvis, Lumberton, Oak Grove, Petal and PCS High Schools.The images were converted to an illustrative looking images which draws the viewer and reproduces better for the magazine. The stories, schedules and images make for a keepsake calendar of the star players from each of the schools.
