Speaker at Gulf Coast Professional Photographers of America

I spoke to the GCPPA professional photographers association in Mobile, Alabama Monday June
25, 2012. The topic was the business of photography. We talked about the past,present and future of photography as a profession. The five parts of a business plan 1) Great photography that has impact, a wow factor and creates a buzz. 2)General Business 3) Pricing 4) Marketing
to get business 5)Salemanship. We also discussed the importance in attending photography
conventions and seminars offered by the PPMA for keeping up with changing technology, trends,
and for imspiration and fellowship with other professional photographers. The meeting was attended by many of the local Mobile studio photographers and commercial photographer

Booking a Bride

I was pleasantly surprised that a young bride who just booked me said that she had wanted to
book me to cover her wedding since she was 10 years old. It is so nice to be appreciated for what you love to do!

Add ImageI Just returned from the annual convention of Professional Photographers of Mississippi 2012, a dual state organization of Professional Photographers of America, held at th IP Casino in Biloxi,MS. The speakers were world famous senior portrait photographer, Larry Peters of London Ohio who was featured on 20/20. The second day featured Jason and Rebecca Weaver













of Tennessee from Mac Brown Photography. They also spoke on cutting edge senior portraiture













and business/marketing practices. The third day featured Travis Gugelman of Travis Gugelman













Photography from Idaho. He is one of the most successful photographers in America. He presented excellent photography, motivational and marketing practices. He plans a mission trip













to Equador each year to photograph and help the poor and needy of that country. I entered the













print competition and hung 6 prints in the salon. I received judges choice and distinguised in the illustrative category, 1st and distinguished places in the commercial category, distinguished place in the portrait of a group.
