I was at Dickens Chip Mill in Perkinston, MS taking industrial photographs for G W Systems out of Birmingham, AL. They build cranes and conveyor systems. The chip mill has a new crane and shreds pine and hardwood poles for use in the business next door. The other business makes pine 80% and hardwood 20% pellets for burning in power generating plants in Germany. It is better than burning coal.
What makes wood pellets better than coal? Is it simply one of the characteristics of wood pellets to burn hotter?
