Baileigh's Portraits

We do baby portraits of infants, 3,6,9,12 month old babies and children. This is Baileighs 3 month old portrait with her Mom. Usually secured in a padded seat works well. At this age

babies usually don't smile a lot but can look pleasant. A studio setting is usually preferred.

Wedding at Hattiesburg Cultural Center

Clay and Haley are getting ready to hold their wedding and reception in downtown Hattiesburg at The Hattiesburg Cultural Center. They have opted to see each other before the ceremony and take most of their posed portraits ahead of time to allow for a more relaxed time and more quality time before the ceremony. They will do their "first look" at another nearby location by

the Walnut Circle Grill on Walnut St.

Traditional Studio Portraits are alive!

These boys were photographed in the studio where the background is deemphasized and the

emphasis is on expression in formal styled clothing. They are not as easy to photograph because of trying hard to smile or comply. Often kids are bored and want to play which is what is necessary to get better expressions. We do a lot of location portraits also which involve finding the great area, dealing with the weather like rain, heat, wind and things like bugs and bright light

from the sun. The portrait should capture the subjects real self or soul and appear effortless even though there could have been some difficulties as mentioned above.

Ed Wheeler Photography Reception

Retired USM photography professor held a gallery reception of his travel photography at Hattiesburg Cultural Center July 17, 2012. There was a large selection of black framed prints

from his travels since the start of the digital age of photography. Happy birthday to Ed who just

turned 75! There was a collection of his former students who attended and posed for a photograph to be put in the Hattiesburg American Newspaper. Ed was a very demanding instructor and didn't anything but your best. It was all or nothing . Visit the display which will be up till August 23, 2012.

Family Portraits

Adam and Alex enjoyed getting some urban landscape portraits around the downtown Hattiesburg, MS. area for a surprise birthday gift for their mother. Their dad was along for the shoot. When you want great portraits which hold up to being enlarged for wall portraits it is best to hire a professional to maintain great color, detail and sharpness. Photographers who are new to photography often lack the knowledge to control the direction of lighting, color balance, focus

or sharpness by shooting on auto settings the camera might not give you the best of these which

is required for a high quality portrait. As portrait photographers we are selling a great image or wall portrait which should be paid adequately for and not presented on a CD.

Citizens Bank Officer Public Relations Shoot

The local branch of Citizens National Bank needed some full lenth studio shots on white both smiling and a little different to gain customer confidence. Their home office in Meridian, MS.

set up the session. We recently did something similar with the other Hattiesburg, MS branch

officers. They had a blast especially the guy that had a cast on his foot!

Signature Magazine July Photography Issue 2012

Just got a copy of the the July Issue of Signature Magazine. I was one of the featured photographers. Considering the rest haven't been in business very long I felt honored to be included in the group. An interesting issue which doesn't just focus on the selected photographers but other photography topics.

Pool Portraits Can be fun Even in the Bright Sun

High School Students love to do pool shoots since they are in good shape and have Copper tone

Tans. Underwater is possible but more dangerous with the electricity and possibility of getting

the camera wet which will ruin it if this happens. Seniors book early to get this done during the summer!
